Since our founding in 2017, hundreds of volunteers have contributed thousands of hours to make Cape Cod Toy Library the treasured community resource it is today. From early childhood educators who helped curate our collection of 2,000+ toys, to interns cataloging and staffing open hours, volunteers have been the heartbeat of our growth.

Now, with our new permanent home in West Barnstable, there are even more ways to participate! Whether you’re an educator, a student, a parent, or simply someone who cares about families on the Cape, this is an exciting time to join our team.

There are many ways to get involved.

We’re not hiring staff right now, but we’re actively building our volunteer and leadership community. If you’re interested in contributing your time, skills, or experience, here are ways to get involved:

Internships
– Interns bring fresh ideas and energy to our programs. You’ll support real projects, learn early-childhood best practices, and help families across the Cape.

Volunteers – From one-time projects to ongoing roles, there are many ways to help: cleaning and organizing toys/books, distributing rack cards/flyers, staffing community events and open hours, setting up/taking down the play space, planning family programs, operations and tech support, translations, grant writing, copy editing, fundraising support, and sponsor outreach.

Board Committees – Now recruiting committee members for:

  • Development & Finance

  • Governance

  • Marketing & Outreach

  • Operations

  • Collections Development

Board of Directors – We’re seeking leaders with:

  • Passion for the Cape Cod Toy Library mission

  • Influence and strong community connections

  • Strong sales and relationship-building skills

  • Marketing and development expertise

  • Proven leadership experience
